I'm a Principal Advisor related to Microsoft technology, commercial & partnership strategy
Edinburgh, West Lothian, United Kingdom
Following 26 years in various technology strategy and commercial management roles at Microsoft, I set up my own advisory practice. The main purpose is to help clients
1. think like Microsoft - sit on their shoulders as their "MicrosoftGPT",
2. build technology and commercial strategies
3. assess current and planned usage
4. optimise spend and develop better governance on their Microsoft technology and AI engagements.
I also partner with other people and organisations on wider engagements beyond Microsoft, and I support and mentor a number of companies & startups on their solutions and sales strategies.
With plenty of vendor-side experience, now I work for clients and Microsoft partners on helping them understand how Microsoft works (good and bad), the fast evolving landscape and AI capabilities, and how to get the best from those engagements and technology usage.
I like to take a well informed and humorous position on Responsible AI and translate what the industry promises and technical jargon commonly use into real-world impact, as well as question whether proposed AI solutions are worthwhile and valuable, using experienced techniques for business case development, problem discovery and where existing technology solutions could be used rather than add AI for no real benefit.
